Leon County voters approved a local one cent sales tax to fund stormwater and flood control projects, greenspace acquisition and parks/recreation improvements. The projects were proposed by a working group of local leaders, which came to be called the Economic & Environmental Consensus Committee, who began meeting after public efforts to resolve differences between business and environmental leaders became contentious.
